Sumario:As we attend to the new visual magma in which we inhabit and the type of formalizations representing it, the contingent condition of the idea of image and its relation to the historical apriorism that configures this view as complex experiences in each period becomes more evident. This article tries to get closer to the scopic characterization of the present society of networks and to the intricate and diverse relations operating among the visual experience, its representation through pictures or prints and their conversion into images. It seeks to reveal what appears as a new treatment of visual aspects, produced from the friction of various factors – historical, social, etc (what we can understand as a re-treat), and does so through the confrontation of various ways of conceiving and constructing the subject and its figure (what we understand as a portrait). For this, a brief archaeological tour is traced through some daily practices that treat the images in different contexts, and is confronted with artistic proposals that problematize this present view.
