Sumario:In order to evaluate the efficiency of public, private and accredited hospitals in the South of Brazil, clinical, technical and financial indicators from 2018 were used. The sample consisted of 81 hospitals. For the analysis, the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) technique was used, using the BCC model with variable returns to scale. The results show that when analyzing the relationship between technical and clinical efficiency and the relationship between technical and financial efficiency of hospitals, 18 of them presented 100% with input and output orientation. When analyzing the clinical and financial efficiency, it was found that 24% were efficient when oriented to input and output, however, only hospital H34 was efficient in all analyses. It is concluded that hospital accreditation contributes to a better performance, since administrators who include accreditation in their strategic planning obtained a better result.
