I aim to analyze the historical development of this interpretation, tracing it back to the early texts of Hoffmann and Kierkegaard on Don Giovanni, and revealing the theological-political background of this idea. My thesis is that Heuss’s article served to present Mozart as a Romantic author and place him within a pretendedly Germanic canon, linked to Protestantism and German nationalism, distancing him from other religious and musical influences present in his work, such as Catholicism and Italian music. This analysis will aid in understanding the utilization of the concept in recent decades, ranging from the theology of Karl Barth to the philosophy of Peter Kivy, through the studies of Ivan Nagel, where the image of the eternal child and the idea of the demonic have not ceased to coexist.En 1906, el musicólogo Alfred Heuss publicó un ensayo donde defendía que existía un elemento demoníaco en las obras de Mozart. Esta publicación modificó la forma en que se había interpretado hasta entonces la figura del compositor, no sólo entre los musicólogos, sino también entre los biógrafos, los poetas, los músicos, los teólogos y los filósofos, que en general habían seguido la imagen del niño eterno. Mi objetivo es analizar la historia de esta interpretación, que se remonta a los primeros textos de Hoffmann y Kierkegaard sobre Don Giovanni, mostrando el trasfondo teológico-político de esta idea. Mi tesis es que el artículo de Heuss sirvió para presentar a Mozart como un autor romántico y situarlo dentro un canon pretendidamente germano, vinculado al protestantismo y el nacionalismo alemán, alejándolo de otras influencias religiosas y musicales presentes en su obra, como el catolicismo y la música italiana.
