Sumario:This study deals with the Delphi Technique, which is one of the socalled Specialist Methods, as a method of research in Information Science. It explains the special features of the technique and presents the advantages and disadvantages of the use of the method, its characteristics, terminology and steps. The research also deals with the ways in which Delphi can be outlined, suggesting the Policy Delphi as the most suitable to be used in this field. The study comments on the instrument used to collect data – the questionnaire, and clarifies some questions regarding the group of experts that constitute the subjects of the research. It concludes illustrating the use of the Delphi Technique in Information Sciences and suggesting that it be used as an alternative research method in this field.
