| Sumario: | This paper presents a brief history of the origin of the Postgraduate Program in Design at the Federal University of Campina Grande, initially describing its roots in the Industrial Design major, created in 1978. Subsequently, it describes how the area of concentration and the two research branches that are currently part of the program are characterized. The text highlights the different approaches to the investigation of themes that reflect the potential of the program’s research for social impact and its importance to the region and the country. Finally, possible developments for the continuation and review of the scope of the program are outlined in order to meet the recent needs of the field. |
