Sumario:Among the logistical costs, transport costs represent around 30% of the total costs. Road transport is one of the most simple and efficient one of the modal but presents high expenses due to significance high consumption and diesel level price. In Brazil, the transportation of freight and people focused on the road. Within that context and analyzing the existing literature, this work presents the use of political refueling application in order to reduce the expenses of a company manufacturer of garlic in the State of Espírito Santo, Brazil. The application has to determine the optimal refueling policy in transportation between the factory and its consumers, taking into account the variation in the price of fuel in different stations. To conduct this implementation in the company, the research-action methodology was used in order to involve the company in a cooperative and participatory way. The tests made with the application together with the company truck driver made possible to create a new refueling policy that saved 30% fuel costs in the company.
