| Sumario: | This paper discusses the tense and complex relations between language, museum, heritage. Understanding language as shift and inapprehensibility, thinking on its relation with processes of preservation and exhibition, and observing the Museu da Língua Portuguesa’s long-term exhibition, the motivating question for this reflexion is: what (Portuguese) language is after all there exhibited? Thus, assuming language as discourse infer that it should be taken as unsiezable, what on its turn leads to conjecture that it only gives itself in exhibition or in preservation as a kind of simulacrum or delusion. |
