| Sumario: | Fernando Pessoa has deeply changed his country’s culture by driving it to a vanguard position on modern culture. He abdicated enjoying his personal life to transform it into his work, built up from a wide knowledge of occult sciences’ theories. From this perspective, alchemy and occultism became an important authorial strategy, transforming them in an esthetic resource for his very first to the latest poem, acting as the biggest alchemic treatise ever seen in a literature work. The magic power comes from deep symbolic, metaphoric, and analogical relations, depurating literature and sublimating the poet’s life through his work. |
