Afterwards, the investigation focuses on analyzing the importance of reflexive equilibrium in Rawlsian theory, highlighting the use of narrow and wide reflective equilibrium, especially in the “Outline of a decision procedure for ethics”, A Theory of Justice and “The independence of moral theory” and the use of general and full reflective equilibrium in Justice as Fairness, Political Liberalism, “Reply to Habermas” and The Law of Peoples. In the final part of the text, the idea is to defend the reflexive equilibrium as a very adequate method to obtain the objectivity of ethical beliefs, which can be interpreted as a kind of moral knowledge.O objetivo deste artigo é investigar o escopo do método do equilíbrio reflexivo e sua relação com o conhecimento moral, refletindo sobre o papel deste método na teoria da justiça como equidade de John Rawls. Para tal, iniciamos mostrando a influência do método na filosofia moral e política. Depois, a investigação tem por foco analisar a importância do equilíbrio reflexivo na teoria rawlsiana, destacando o uso do equilíbrio reflexivo estreito e amplo sobretudo nas obras “Outline of a decision procedure for ethics”, A Theory of Justice e “The independence of moral theory” e o uso do equilíbrio reflexivo geral e pleno nas obras Justice as Fairness,Political Liberalism, “Reply to Habermas” e The Law of Peoples.
