| Sumario: | This article describes the creation, functioning, and contents of Revista do Museu Paulista, a scientific periodical published by the eponymous institution, with particular attention to the period when Affonso Taunay was director of the Museu Paulista. The journal starts in 1897 as a review of natural history subjects, during the administration of the German zoologist Hermann von Ihering. After 1917, and until 1945, with Affonso Taunay as director of the museum, the periodical also devotes its pages to historical themes. |
