Descripción
Sumario:This paper analyses the importance of School Feeding Councils (CAEs) in the implementation and oversight of the National School Feeding Programme (PNAE), highlighting their functions, challenges and action strategies. Using a narrative and qualitative systematic literature review (SLR) methodology, information was collected and analysed from reliable databases such as Oasis, Periódicos Capes, Estudos Sociedade e Agricultura, and SciELO, filtered by specific keywords in articles, theses and dissertations published in the last five years. The results indicate that CAEs play a crucial role in ensuring the food and nutritional security of students, promoting food quality and efficiency in the use of PNAE resources. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the work of the CAEs was essential for the adaptation and continuity of the programme. The research also highlights the importance of continuous training for counsellors, the use of monitoring technologies and the integration of the PNAE with family farming. The conclusion is that the CAEs are fundamental to the success of the PNAE, and that it is necessary to improve training practices and promote community participation in order to tackle existing challenges and strengthen the programme's effectiveness.
