| Resumo: | This text explores the process of the outreach project “Patrimonial education with a focus on the Tropeiro and blacksmith Memorial in Diamantina/MG” developed by professors and students of the Tourism course at the Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri. To rescue, preserve and convey to the next generations the memory of the tropeiro and blacksmith trades, the memorial was proposed to be established in the Old Market of Diamantina, a place that was an important Rancho de Tropas (where groups of Tropeiros would settle when passing through the city) in the state. The memory of these crafts is part of the historical-cultural identity of Diamantina and the region and is designed as a tourist attraction, enriching the experience of visitors in the city. The goal was to create a set of outreach actions aiming at patrimonial education with a focus on the memorial, having been adapted to the remote format, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The main methodologies were: bibliographic research and production of pedagogical materials to be used in formal and informal patrimonial education experiences, such as educational booklets, artistic catalogs, books of stories, recreational activities, and documentary videos. Among the results are the dissemination of the memorial and a greater appreciation of the cultural and historical relevancies of these artistries by the population of Diamantina. |
