Descripción
Sumario:The conquests by territory and the productive practices carried out by traditional populations are part of transformations resulting from the decisions and positions of society in a given space and must be considered as processes for territorial development. This article aims to identify the fishing modalities and bring the perception of artisanal fishermen about the rules and instruments that regulate fishing in the Caeté-Taperaçu Marine Extractive Reserve, on the coast of Pará. For this, historical interviews were carried out; application of a socioeconomic questionnaire; monitoring of fishing activities; bibliographic survey aiming to know the legal regulatory instruments for the use of the territory. We identified that there are conflicts between the routine practices of the fishermen and the rules established by the management body of the Extractive Reserve in question. Factors such as the dispute over natural resources, guarantee of survival of the families of fishermen and knowledge transmitted by generations, can influence the practice of artisanal fishermen in a logic of short-term benefit, even though these practices may diverge from institutionalized, centered rules environmental legislation. These results show that the society-nature relationship has great relevance in the search for territorial development in Marine Extractive Reserves.Â
