Description
Summary:This paper introduces a new technique for radiotherapy based on the coupling of two distinct methods: the brachytherapy provided by discrete sources of neutrons and photons placed in intracavitary regions of patient, and the Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT). With the goal of studying the performance of the coupled treatment, computational evaluations are proposed to quantify the absorbed dosages. Analysis of possible neutrons sources, such as discret neutron sources, nuclear reator, linear acelerators - LINACs, and special devices for cold neutrons are presented in order to verify the feasibility of the instalation of neutron generators in hospitais.
