Sumario:In the sportive environment, there is a tendency that the benefit effect of a rich diet with carbohydrate just happens in long-term aerobic exercise. However, carbohydrate supplementation in resistance training is one ergogenic aid associated with muscle growth and performance improvement. The increase of tension muscle (force) is a primary requirement to start the skeletal muscle growth, or hypertrophy, by exercise training. Resistance training is defined as exercises which present a form of gradual resistance to muscle contraction. The ingestion of 6g of essential amino acids stimulates net protein synthesis so effectively to the ingestion of 6g of essential amino acids + 35g of carbohydrate and increases the glycogen synthesis rate. It has been demonstrated that preexercise carbohydrate meal ingestion with low glycemic index reduces carbohydrate oxidation when compared with the ingestion of a high glycemic index meal some researchers suggest that the consumption of carbohydrate during resistance training reduces cortisol levels and additionally enhances GH levels. This suggest that elevations in insulin levels and reductions in the cortisol levels can stimulates enhance of GH level that may ultimately lead to increases in muscle hypertrophy and to improve resistance training performance. The Scientifics tendencies have been shown that carbohydrate supplementation can lead to hypertrophy. However, we suggest more studies clarify better these mechanisms.
