Sumario:Identified in December 2019, the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 is the causative agent of covid-19. Among the many discomforts it has caused in people's lives is the closure of libraries, a measure that directly affects the user communities in which they are inserted. However, in the near future these institutions will be reopened and measures to protect the health of employees and users should be taken. Therefore, the objective of this work is, based on the literature review, to compile the preventive measures against covid-19 that could be adopted by libraries. In summary, we identified that the best forms of prevention, in relation to people's health, is the adoption of basic measures of personal hygiene and respiratory etiquette and, in relation to the conservation of the collections, it is to leave the items in quarantine. In the final considerations, we present the possible subjects that libraries may treat when preparing their reopening policies
