| Sumario: | Purpose: To investigate scientific production regarding religion and spirituality in the context of solid organ transplantation. Methods: Integrative literature review was performed on the MEDLINE, LILACS and PUBMED databases, in the Scielo library and in the Journal of Religion and Health, by primary articles published in Portuguese, English or Spanish. Data were collected by using a file instrument and qualitatively analyzed. Results: 12 articles were selected and described in three categories: Experiences and spiritual perspectives on the organ donation and transplantation process; influence of the religion and spirituality in making a decision regarding the donation and transplantation process; religion / spirituality influencing the patient / caregiver in the disease and in the transplant. Conclusion: The available literature has indicated that religion and spirituality are factors influencing patients in multiple ways in this context and requiring further investigation. |
