Sumario:The introduction of the concept of sustainable development in the state of Acre has occurred since 1999, with the Popular Front in the executive branch. Such political and ideological perspective focuses on the convergence between economic use and environmental preservation of the forest, which demonstrates its commitment to the emerging needs of society as well as the capital. It is in this context that the Factory of Male Condoms of Xapuri arises as a policy of sustainable development of the Popular Front government in Acre, producing condoms from latex from the rubber tree native of the Upper Acre region. Given the importance and results of the proposed sustainability for the state some questions arose: what is the role of Natex Condoms to the political project of sustainable development of the Popular Front in Acre? As well as what are the tools and strategies used to implement the sustainable proposition in the state? Finally, how does the relationship between the condom factory and the individuals involved, that is, the rubber tappers who provide latex for the production of condoms, materialize? Thus, we found that the proposed sustainable development of the Popular Front builds itself disagreeing with the social and environmental propaganda, since it prioritizes the process of commodification of nature via logging, beef export and sale of environmental services. This way, both Natex Condoms and the sustainability policy serve to cover up and legitimize the process of spoliation of nature through an ideological apparatus which combines activities related to capital as being sustainable, as they favour the social demands and with less impact on the environment...
