Sumario:The goal of achieving the body aesthetically perfecthas led many women to consume dietary supplements that promise to enhance weight lossor gain of muscle mass in a short period of time. The objective of this study was to evaluate the consumption of dietary supplements by women who exercise in a Taguatinga / DF. The gymhas approximately 300 students. The criteria for selection of participants were being female and practicephysicalexercises at least three times a week. We applied a questionnaire with seven multiple-choice questions with the following data: Age, education, income, number of supplements they consume, types of supplements consumed, referral source and purpose of the nutritional supplementation. It was noted that most participants were aged between 21 and 25 years, averageeducation level, income from 3 to 4 times the minimum wage andthey usuallyuse two types of supplements. The most used were protein and thermogenic and objectives most frequently reported were hypertrophy, weight loss and fitness, and the main indications were made by store clerks and teacherswho work in their own gym.We need greater awareness of the professionals who recommend the use ofsupplements without being able to do so as well as intensification of nutrition education on the part of the nutritionist, to avoid the indiscriminate use of such products.
