Descripción
Sumario:In this article, which is an excerpt from an MA thesis, we intend to observe how the neoliberal discourse captures and produces maternal subjectivities by drawing on motherhood-oriented podcast channels. We have two objectives i) identify the subject-position(s) that these women occupy when enunciating and ii) describe the effects of meaning made possible by the circulation of these enunciations about motherhood. We carried out an analysis based on Foucaultian Discourse Studies, especially on the ethics and aesthetics of existence, in order to observe the relations of knowledge-power and subjectivation in contemporary motherhood. As a result of the analyses, we noticed that neoliberal rationality permeates most of the discursive processes that (re)update the meanings of contemporary motherhood.
