| Sumario: | The generation of photovoltaic energy is one of the forms of generation that will be essential to supply the growing demand for electricity. However, several factors, such as the technology of the photovoltaic modules and the characteristics of the place where the system is installed, influence the performance of the plant, which can lead to the system generating less energy than was expected by the project. This work aims to analyze the performance of four different technologies and in six different mesoregions of Paraná, during the period between January of 2020 and December of 2023, in order to identify the most suitable characteristics for generation in each mesoregion. The Grid Connected Photovoltaic Systems (GCPVS) that were studied are the result of an R&D research project between the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) and Paraná Company of Energy (COPEL) that resulted in a solarimetric station and four GCPVS, that used monocrystalline silicon (m-Si), polycrystalline silicon (p-Si), copper, indium, and gallium diselenide (CIGS) and cadmium telluride (CdTe) technologies for photovoltaic modules, in six different UTFPR campuses, these being the Campo Mourão, Cornélio Procópio, Curitiba, Medianeira, Pato Branco and Ponta Grossa campuses. To analyze the performance of each system, the performance metrics Capacity, Final Yield and the Performance Ratio were used and they were calculated using the generated energy and irradiation data. The operating temperatures of the modules during the day and how this could affect energy generation were also analyzed. Overall, CdTe had the best results in the three performance metrics, followed by CIGS, p-Si and m-Si. In relation to the campuses, Cornélio Procópio presented the highest values in the three performance metrics and Ponta Grossa presented the lowest values. |
