Sumario:Objective: to discuss the main causes, repercussions and the Nursing performance towards women victims of violence. Methods: this is a theoretical-reflective study, with data collection in July 2021, using the following databases: Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO). Thirty-two studies from the last ten years (2011-2021) were selected, using content investigation to group the studies. Results: Three groups of problems emerged, involving the origins, consequences and nursing performance of women who are victims of violence. Final considerations: the main causes of violence against women are related to historical and cultural factors, such as the disparity of power in male-female bonds, in addition to the use of alcohol and other drugs among those involved; in relation to the repercussions, there are physical and psychological injuries, increased risk of developing an unwanted pregnancy and/or of contracting an STI or even death; and finally, with regard to the performance of Nursing, there is a lack of professional preparation, since graduation, as well as the omission in the face of cases, in addition to the importance of implementing the continuing and permanent education for professionals with the aim of improving the assistance.
