Descripción
Sumario:The essay aims to show that the emancipatory meaning of Paulo Freire's educational proposal implies the awareness of the condition of cultural coloniality still persistent in peripheral societies of the planet that were constituted by colonization processes carried out by European metropolitan nations and the need to overcome it through the denunciation of Eurocentrism and the practice of intercultural education. It supports the inclusion of Paulo Freire in the universe of pioneer thinkers in the defense of the necessary and relevant role of education as a process of emancipation of colonized peoples, by proposing the rooting of epistemological practice and the interculturality of educational practice.   Keywords: Paulo Freire. Liberating education. Interculturality. Emancipation.
