| Sumario: | This analysis has as main objective to call attention to the study of illusionistic paintings in Brazil during the colonial period. A "decorative shape" that spreads throughout the country, with morphological and cultural differences that deserve specific and more determined research. The text seeks to highlight the illusionist paintings on the nave, in the chancel, in the sacristy, and in the low choir of the Matriz Divina Pastora, in Divina Pastora, in the State of Sergipe. A gem when it comes to architectural illusionism. We intended to analyze the formal aspects and not get into controversies about authorship. In the latter case, we will leave it for the next opportunity. The perspective paintings in Colonial Brazil are of technical quality, with great expression in their historical and narrative message. Our main focus was to study the perspective effects and bring its morphology closer to the Perspectiva Pictorum treatise by Trentino Andrea Pozzo. |
