Descripción
Sumario:This work addresses one of the themes of the doctoral thesis on the Syrian-Lebanese migratory process in the Patagonian northwest during the first half of the 20th century. We will seek to demonstrate how matrimonial ties within the community can affect the social integration of a space in formation. While endogamous behavior has been a characteristic of several immigrant groups, in the case of Syrian-Lebanese people established in Patagonia, this action has varied in relation to the ethnic-confessional group. The interviews carried out and the documentation completed allowed us to observe the different moments of origins and members that formed this collective, influencing and modifying marital relationships.
