Descripción
Sumario:School Cartography has many didactic resources for teaching and learning in Geography, including the mind map, which is not just a drawing but a resource available for the representation of a particular theme or place. This work aimed to use the mind map with 1st year students of the Elementary School in a public school in Sorocaba-SP. We chose to use the mind map as a resource for graphic representation for the study of the place because students are in the literacy process and drawing has become a favorable mean for recording. The mind map proved to be very useful as a didactic resource for the problematization of the place in which the students are inserted, as the students' drawings were able to record their daily observations and served as elements for the discussion of the problems experienced in the neighborhood in which they live.
