Turkey, Brazil and Mexico have the same level of participation in the teledramaturgy market. Turkish soap operas reach a large audience all over Latin America. The positive reception of Turkish soap operas generates some questions about the perception of the themes that involve the plots. In this sense, it is mandatory to mention the great appeal to gender violence involving Turkish soap operas shown in open TV channels. From these points, the intention is to understand the reasons that lead Brazilian women to become interested in these Turkish melodramatic narratives that reinforce gender stereotypes and do not reflect on the role of women in society. This research was carried out using an online quiz shared in soap operas fan groups on Facebook. The form aimed to understand the interrelation between the perception people have about soap operas and gender violence, also seeking to know which aspects of the plots most attract viewers.

Turquía tiene una participación equivalente a la de Brasil y México en el mercado de teleseries, alcanzando grandes índices de audiencia en toda Latinoamérica. La acogida positiva de las telenovelas turcas genera un cuestionamiento entorno a la percepción de las temáticas que las tramas envuelven. En este sentido, debemos mencionar el gran apelo a la violencia de género vehiculada en las telenovelas turcas que fueron exhibidas en la red abierta. A partir de estos puntos, este artículo busca comprender las razones que llevan a las mujeres brasileñas a interesarse por las narrativas melodramáticas turcas, que, en definitiva, refuerzan los estereotipos de género y no hacen grandes reflexiones sobre el papel de la mujer en la sociedad. Esta investigación se desarrolló utilizando un cuestionario en línea compartido en los grupos de fans de telenovelas en Facebook. El formulario apuntó a comprender la interrelación entre las percepciones de las telenovelas sobre violencia de género, buscando entender que aspectos de las tramas atraían más a las teleespectadoras.Desde 2015 as telenovelas turcas têm recebido grande espaço no cenário brasileiro, primeiramente por iniciativa da Rede de Televisão Bandeirantes e posteriormente através de grupos em redes sociais em que diversas telenovelas são legendadas para o Português. A Turquia tem participação equivalente à do Brasil e do México no mercado da teledramaturgia, alcançando grandes índices de audiência em toda a América Latina. A recepção positiva das telenovelas turcas gera um questionamento sobre a percepção das temáticas que envolvem as tramas. Nesse sentido, torna-se obrigatório mencionar o grande apelo à violência de gênero envolvendo as telenovelas turcas que foram exibidas em rede aberta. A partir destes pontos, este artigo busca entender os motivos que levam as brasileiras a se interessarem pelas narrativas melodramáticas turcas que, em suma, reforçam estereótipos de gênero e não fazem grandes reflexões sobre o papel da mulher na sociedade. Esta pesquisa se desenvolveu com o uso de um questionário online compartilhado nos grupos de fãs das telenovelas no Facebook.
