Description
Summary:The research explores the development of Anti-Racist Information Literacy among undergraduate students in Library Science and Information Management in the Northeast region of Brazil. Given the relevance of racial issues in the current context and persistent inequalities, the promotion of anti-racist informational education is seen as essential for the construction of ethical and inclusive professional practices. However, the topic is still relatively new in these courses, resulting in a worrying gap in scientific literature and pedagogical practices aimed at anti-racism. The study's general objective is to analyze how these students develop critical skills to deal with ethnic-racial information. To this end, it evaluates the Pedagogical Course Projects (PPCs) to verify the inclusion of ethnic-racial content, investigates students' perceptions on the topic and examines how they access, select and evaluate this information. The research contributes to the training of conscious and critical future professionals, capable of promoting a more equitable information practice and committed to reducing social inequalities.
