Descripción
Sumario:This article discusses the protests that took place in June 2013 in Brazil. Based on some impressions of the protesters on social networks, the text points out: the 'strangeness' about the lack of axis in the protests;reports of co-option ('coup'); ethical crisis and non-partisanship; social control and violence. These issues are addressed from the perspective of classical and contemporary theories of social movements. The central argument, however, relies on Derrida's notion of game and its consequences on the neo-gramscian concept of hegemony: the existence of various contents disputing the filling of a center - the ‘empty signifier’; a center that plays a symbolic  and contingent role of give unity to the chaotic social plurality; and a social that can redefine itself by playing game’s rules or going beyond of the establishment, subverting and renewingdemocracy.
