Supraspinatus tendons were evaluated with immunohistochemistry using S100 protein antibodies and histological protocol. Supraspinatus tendons at the end of 4 months of overuse protocol had a high number of media mechanoreceptors (4.3) than controls (0.6). the overexpression of S100 protein antibody in overuse activities maybe could represent a adaptative effort to tendon before the tear.
