Sumario:The Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM) suffered many setbacks since its implementation in the 70s and its adaptation to constant global economic transformations, as well as evolution of manufacturing processes always had the support and actions of the Superintendence of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (Suframa). Industry 4.0 is a global reality, and the factories installed in PIM need to restructure to absorb the technological advances of this new industrial paradigm. The research, subsidized by investments in research and development (R&D) in the Western Amazon, proposes the optimization of a production process in a company in PIM that operates in the adhesive tape sector. Digital simulation of discrete events is a pillar of industry 4.0. This research describes the main methodological steps implemented to improve the processes of a productive cell whose results were computationally modeled and analyzed using the FlexSim® 2021 software. Through computational modeling, it was possible to identify problems and suggest opportunities for improvement for the target cell of the study. Using simulation methods and techniques provided the optimization of the company’s production process, since they brought results through the creation of scenarios that showed the reduction of inventory in processes, reduction of production lead time, elimination of bottlenecks and improvement of layout.
