| Sumario: | This text presents the process of formation and public confirmation of singers among the Ràmkôkam?kra / Canela peoples of the village Escalvado, county of Fernando Falcão, in the state of Maranhão. These peoples are part of the “collective” Timbira, Jê peoples of Central Brazil. We emphasize how a singer’s body is built and which instruments and adornments are associated with that formation. For this, the text seeks to understand the importance of male training rituals (Kêtuwajê, Pepjê and Pep-cahàc) from the language of corporality as a manufacturing device to understand the importance of the figure of the singer as one who assists in the process of re production) of the universe. |
