Sumario:This study aimed to examine the need for coordinative work for sports initiation. According to the analyzed references, glimpsed the adequacy need of motor capacities, collection motorand sports practice. In addition, observed a deficit at the level coordinative of children and changes that the sport can provide for in this reality. The students who practice physical activity outside classroom were more coordinated. A specialist practice sports showed divergent results, with respect to the coordinative development. In this sense, it is necessary to structure the practice according to the level of performance, focusing, a priority, on activities ecologically situated, permeating the need of the student in learning the contents inherent to the game in context, providing understanding of the need of technical learning to solve a tactical situation. The sports initiation is a possibility of developing aspects cognitive-motorin children and young people provided that permit substantive learning opportunities.
