Sumario:The increase in the size of organizations and the increase in their structural complexity have required organizations to formulate and execute strategies that allow them to overcome growing market demands and achieve their goals, reflecting in this way the need to professionalize management and impacting on the review of its governance structures. In this sense, the objective of this study was to analyze the level of adoption of Corporate Governance practices for the sustainability of Cooperatives of the agricultural sector in the West of Paraná. For the accomplishment of this research, the methodological orientation was used the deductive method, the quantitative and qualitative analysis, with descriptive objective of technical bibliometric study and study of multicasos. Data were collected through the application of questionnaires. The chapters contemplate the main theoretical foundations related to the concepts and evolution of Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development, in view of the development of bibliometric studies in order to explore aspects on the subject with the scope to guide and effectively contribute to the advancement and improvement in studies with the subject in the academic environment. In view of the results, we verified the integration of Corporate Governance and Sustainability, thus showing the relevance that good corporate governance practices have in management and consequently sustainability in organizations. Governance and sustainability are expressions that are adjectivized by the term corporate, thus forming a triad, which can sometimes be used separately (corporate governance or corporate sustainability), however, the study shows that in recent years there are efforts in the academy to systematize the junction of the terminologies result in the possibility of using the term governance and corporate sustainability, that is, one living conditioned by the other. It is observed before the studies that have dealt with the existence and the relation of the topic Cooperativism and Sustainable Development, that the cooperativism is an organization that adopts practices and concerns with the sustainability, as the own evolution of the cooperatives in the economic dimensions, through the availability and access to the market both for the marketing of their products and services and for consumption and under social aspects, and the social inclusion of members can be highlighted. When analyzing the set of cooperatives, in a general average they present themselves at a level of adoption of corporate governance practices in consolidation. However, it is understood that there is still a lot of opportunity for studies and improvement in practices geared to corporate governance mechanisms, such as the structuring and professionalization of management, the expansion of the qualifications of boards and directors, as well as the performance of these members in the decisions based on deeper discussions, as well as improved communication to stimulate involvement and action, both between cooperative and cooperative, as well as cooperative and cooperative.
