Resumo:This paper reflects upom the ideas of David Harvey about the new role of urban governments in late capitalism, when these governments become more enterprising or entrepreneurialist.The causes of this process are analyzed: the Fordist-Keynesian regulation crisis and the establishment of a globalized macro-economic system. The paper also intends to survey how entrepreneurialism is emerging in Brazilian local governments inthe 90·s.
