| Sumario: | When we launched the call for this issue of Conceição | Conception Magazine, asking to “explore the different ways in which critical thinking, the arts and social or citizen performance - particularly in Latin America - commit themselves or reinvent themselves to respond to the challenges of our time ”, we could not imagine what was to come or the scale of the crisis we are now experiencing. At that moment, the first reflections began to circulate: Wuhan Soup (ASPO - Aislamiento Social Preventivo y Obligatorio, March 2020), Pandemia and capitalism (FilosofíaLibre, April 2020), Everything that falls on us (LA RECI) Ediciones & OnA, San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico, 2020), among many others. A year earlier, Ailton Krenak had published Ideas to postpone the end of the world (Companhia das Letras, 2019), which, in short, and, from the perspective of Viveiros de Castro, “reflects on the anthropological assumptions of that civilization that is becoming by the flagship of 'humanity' and on the effects that it is having on the material and spiritual conditions of existence of all peoples, species and existing beings on Earth ”(VIVEIROS DE CASTRO, 2020). |
