Descripción
Sumario:This paper describes part of a larger research that investigated moral education experiences considered well succeeded by their actors in public schools, from elementary school to high school, in different regions of Brazil. In this paper, we analyze social representations that have emerged in about 1033 questionnaires considering answers to two initial questions that asked: Why schools should, or not, teach Moral Education and Values? Why and how? The data were analyzed using the software ALCESTE. We developed a categorical thematic analysis, with categories defined a posteriori. It is important to highlight the following result: the main reasons for the development of education in moral values at school are related to the crisis of values in both society and family. The methods to achieve the Moral Education are varied and it is mentioned the daily school experiences, specific disciplines and cross-cutting themes.
