| Resumo: | In the last decade the government of Mexico City has been promoting an image of welcoming and intercultural city relatively to the presence of indigenous minorities, national communities, migrants and their family. This process has brought to the publication of the “Ley de interculturalidad, asistencia a migrantes y movilidad humana del Distrito Federal” in 2012. This article focuses in the analysis of the discourse about the Law, its program and process of implementation of local migrant and diversity policies, drawing from a qualitative research undertaken in 2016 in Mexico City. The research included the analysis of official documents, interviews with keynote speakers, observation in participatory events as well as participant observation in a shelter for migrants in the city. |
