| Resumo: | This article proposes shedding light on the subject that has been imposed to psychoanalysis, since its beginnings, bearing in mind the simultaneous approximation and opposition between hypnosis, suggestion and the specificity of the psychoanalytic method. In particular, the authors chose psychoanalysis context of creation to illustrate such apparent contradictions, having the concept of transference as the element that connect them. The text begins with a brief historical overview of therapies based on hypnosis and suggestion, followed by a presentation of how, by promoting a distinction between hypnosis and suggestion, Freud realizes that the abandonment of the first does not mean the eradication of the second, in clinic. With such a path, the authors aim to clarify that, if this observation could dangerously bring psychoanalysis closer to a suggestive treatment, in a decisive way Freud relies on it to set up a radical difference between them. |
