Sumario:The proclamation of the Republic, on October 5, 1910, was the end of a process whose beginning dates to the end of the nineteenth century, and especially to its later years. A period characterized by a condensation of a multifaceted context of crisis in which the collapse of the constitutional Monarchy and the trajectory of a certain, inexorable path leading to the Republic was inscribed. This paper analysis the preparation of the revolution and the proclamation of the new regime in Portugal.
