| Summary: | We have realized an institutional analysis which aim is to examine the catholic ecclesiastical formative practices, by means of institutional functioning from a Catholic Seminary – set in São Paulo State – and theregister of the ecclesiastical knowledge, producer of a specific subjectivity pattern (future priests). We provide data and analysis of semi-structured interviews with the staff for understanding the formation relationship between priests responsible for the formation and seminarians concerning to a privileged and constitutive device of the seminary as an agent producer ofsubjectivity. Thus we come to the conclusion that the Seminary focused can be considered as a common disciplinary institution, which maintains the report as its main mechanism and microphysics device (exam tool, surveillance and normal process sanction). Its genesis can be found into the Catholic medieval convent, the matrix to the total institutions. It had used the confinement and a totalitarian and “panoptic” logic. |
