| Sumario: | The acclaimed television series RuPaul's Drag Race is a true spectacle of creativity and authenticity, in which drag queens from around the world engage in a fierce competition, showcasing their art and talent in performances that carry significant socio-ideological elements. In this context, this article aims to analyze aspects of the carnivalesque worldview (Bakhtin, 2008) in this series in light of the theoretical-philosophical contributions of the Bakhtin Circle (Bakhtin, 2000, 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018; Volóchinov, 2018) regarding the dialogical approach to language and the construction of concrete utterances. In this sense, the present study, of a qualitative-interpretive nature (Minayo, 2002), had the indicative paradigm of Ginzburg (1989) used as a methodological support to construct the data, which were obtained from screenshots taken on the Paramount+ platform in a thematic selection of two episodes. The data generated in this analysis point to the formation of a discursive arena characterized by resistance and questioning of social conventions when it comes to ideological clashes between the planes of the sacred and the profane, highlighting carnivalesque elements as an effective tool for disrupting prevailing social norms in contemporary society. |
