Descrição
Resumo:The aim of this work is to propose and verify the hypothesis thattraffic counts collected at network intersections, instead of those collected on links, reduce indeterminacy and make more accurate reconstruction of the synthetic OD matrix. After summarizing the state of art, the proposed method is described and experiments were carried out in order to verify the hypothesis. TransCAD was the commercial software used to perform the tests. Five scenarios were proposed, two corresponding to the state of art and three simulating the new method, in order to verify not only the effect of using nodes counts, but also the amount and distribution of the traffic counts on the network. The main conclusion was that the OD matrix reconstruction based on traffic counts collected at network intersections presents a better performance in contrast to the traditional methods based on links counts. Therefore, the formulated hypothesis for this work cannot be refuted
