| Resumo: | Children's experiences are articulated between their actions and the expectations and discourses formulated around them. These narratives can define children's ways of life, causing insecurity and disorientation, especially in mothers and fathers, when the subject involves their children's interactions with technologies. Based on this theme, this article aims to understand the role of parental mediation in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) by children from different social contexts in the construction of Children's Cultures. The observation units consisted of 57 families of preschool children, enrolled in public and private institutions in the municipality of Viçosa, MG. For the purpose of data collection, the children's mothers, fathers and grandparents answered a questionnaire, with questions about practices of ICT use by their children and mediations in the family. The results of the research revealed that the social and cultural dynamics surrounding interactions with ICTs are based on the mediation of control by those responsible, from the integration of children in cyberculture, as well as in the organization of time and spaces for education, leisure and their daily lives. |
