Descripción
Sumario:This article addresses the ways in which fear of the other and the desire to exclude the murder of trans people are articulated in journalistic activity. Starting from a theoretical discussion about fear (Delumeau, 1996; Matheus, 2011) and the other, from the perspective of otherness (Levinas, 1982, 2005), the purpose of this text is to problematize the ways in which fear that debases others turns them into bodies to be exterminated. In order to do so, we propose a reading of news that deals with murders of trans people in Minas Gerais, in search of clues to help understand how the fear present in these journalistic productions and its relationship with social life can shape the desire to exclude the other.
