Descripción
Sumario:The aim of this paper is to discuss the text construction of racism in Brazil during the COVID-19 pandemic from the analysis of Brazilian television journalistic interviews about racism in the pandemic. This study has as theoretical framework the interactional and socio-cognitive approach of Text Linguistics. The methodology consisted of a quantitative and qualitative textual analysis of two television interviews, using as analytical categories referential strategies of discursive topic introduction and (re)categorizations of referents related to racism. Results indicates thatthe analysed texts build racism as a social structure that tends to relegate the Brazilian black population in precarious social conditions of life.
