Descripción
Sumario:This article explores the Cuban conception of a knowledge society in the context of sustainable socioeconomic development, contrasting it with Latin American discussions on the subject. Through a bibliographical review, the work analyzes the notion of knowledge in English and Spanish, the perspectives on the knowledge society for human or capital development, and the Cuban vision with its socialist characteristics. It is concluded that Cuba, imbued with its revolutionary history and Marxist-Leninist ideology, seeks to build a knowledge society that is aligned with the social and economic well-being of the population, prioritizing the integral formation of socialist citizens, applied research and centralized planning.
