Descrição
Resumo:Based on the elements related to environmental injustice, as a scientific investigation program, this essay conducts an analysis of the situation surrounding the production of asbestos in the city of Minaçu, Goiás. This analysis is focused primarily on the post-2017 period, when, despite the ban on the use of asbestos by the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court, this city continued its extraction and processing for the intent of exporting. Therefore, the approach method is hypothetical-deductive, since this research presents the hypothesis that there is an existing relation between the case of Minaçu and environmental injustice and enumerates the coincidental points that justify such association, based on bibliographic research and case study. The conclusion was that the case of Minaçu is indeed an example of environmental injustice, because of the strategies used by the asbestos industry in the city and the relationship between company, labor and the locals.
