Descripción
Sumario:This work presents the results of a doctoral dissertation that aimed to analyze the implications of movements for the commodification and democratization of knowledge in Education. We herein present how knowledge, as an immaterial good, is born "free", and becomes a commodity through the commodification movement, which has been operating, with greater evidence, in the arts (music and cinema), in entertainment (games), in technology (softwares) and in science (scientific literature). For this demonstration, we go through the reflection on knowledge, the commodity, the commodity as knowledge, the history of this process and its concrete manifestations in our present time, whether through efforts to maintain the status quo or the creation of new legal mechanisms or technology for the continuity and expansion of this worldview.
