| Sumario: | This article aims to present the myth of Oedipus in a direct analogy with the matter and method of modern natural and political philosophies about man and the citizen. With this aim, we seek to reveal some interesting relationships between myth and philosophy from authors such as Hesiod, Aristotle, Bacon, Hobbes and Descartes, highlighting the way in which these thinkers would have appropriated the myth of Oedipus to base their respective philosophies. Under the anti-Oedipal inspiration of a critique of the history of Greco-Roman philosophy, our main objective is to reveal a mythological influence of Oedipal matter on the bases of the philosophical tradition of science and state policy itself. |
